Panasonic's third-generation of moderately priced magnesium-alloy encased, shock-and-water resistant notebooks, Toughbook CF-28 features Panasonic's new SuperSheet shock damper, four times the water-resistance rating of previous models, ultra-high output TFT with touchscreens, integrated wireless and network communication capability (optional) and streamlined configuration and expansion options.

The CF-28 is both an evolutionary step up in Toughbook design, and it is also a revolutionary computer using proprietary technology to create a combination of performance, durability and flexibility never before seen in this kind of computers. The CF-28 is resistant to water spray from the top, bottom and all sides at any spray angle. Fully sealed display screen, keyboard, touchpad, port and hinge fittings provide dust and debris protection and new elastomer corner protectors improve drop-damage protection.

A new thermal-management system that disperses CPU heat throughout the top half of the case helps maximize the performance and extend the lifecycle of temperature-sensitive components. Increased chassis space created by the low-profile polymer hard-drive shock damper is used to endow the CF-28 with an array of internal communication and connectivity options previously unheard of in a notebook-sized portable computer.
